Modern Foreign Language

French lessons at Coston Primary School consist of a balance of spoken and written language. We use Language Angels Scheme of Work to plan the four skills of learning languages: reading, speaking, writing and listening. The aim in French is to enable children, by the end of KS2, to understand and communicate simple ideas in French, in both speech and writing. Using familiar language and their knowledge of phonology, grammatical structures and vocabulary, they will develop intercultural understanding and show values of respect, tolerance and equality. Our French curriculum is fun and enjoyed by learners, well-resourced and planned to demonstrate progression through Key Stage 2.
